What kind of families live in Family Care?

Due to our commitment to providing a safe and healthy environment for all families in our care, we will consider any mother for possible placement who is “safe” (not a threat to themselves or others), has been “clean” from any form of addiction for 3 consecutive years or longer, and is ready to put her family’s future at the top of her priorities.

• Mothers who are 18 years of age and older may be considered for possible placement.
• Older children must demonstrate a willingness to give the program a chance, along with the mother.
• Our Family Care Department reviews each family’s needs to determine if they will be further considered for the program.
• Our homes are comparable to a “Residential Unit Level 2” or below. We do not accept children who are “out-of-control”.
• Successful placements include mothers who need a stable home environment for themselves, and their dependent aged child(ren), due to circumstances beyond their control.

When unfortunate circumstances become overwhelming, mothers are often left feeling vulnerable and they struggle to find the help they need.

It is easy to feel helpless when the situation gets to the point that you can no longer make ends meet and living with another family member is not the best environment for your family.
